Also known as "sweet bean sauce", our Hoisin Sauce differs from others as we put in quality Canadian soya bean to prepare the sauce. Unlike other companies, we do not add any food coloring to our Hoisin Sauce, thus it retains a naturally fermented earthy color. It has a unique smoky and sweet flavor that is best served as a dip for Peking Duck, Barbecue Pork (Char Siu), Crispy Aromatic Duck Wraps, Mook Shu Wraps, and Crispy Lettuce Wraps. It is an excellent sauce for grilling and marinade seafood.
The literal translation of "Hoisin" is "seafood". However, Hoisin Sauce contains no seafood. The name has such reference might because Cantonese used this sauce to dip steamed shellfish back in the old days.
Vietnamese likes to use our Hoisin Sauce in their dishes, as it tastes very similar to their sweet sauce equivalent - T?? ng ?en.
