A Mediterranean Herb & Spice Blend of Wild Thyme And Oregano

(That grows all over the mountains & hills most commonly in Jordan, Israel, Syria & Lebanon other Arab world) The taste of a za'atar mixture can be tangy, herbal, nutty or toasty. Every region has his/her unique making formula. Jordanian Za’atar is dark green & very herbal.

Ingredients: Wild Thyme, Roasted Wheat, Vegetable Oil, Sesame Seeds, Salt.

Suggested Usage: Za'atar is used as a seasoning for meats & vegetables or sprinkled onto hummus. It is also eaten with labneh (yogurt drained to make a tangy, creamy cheese). Mixed with oliveoil it makes a spread called za'atar-wu-zayt as a dip for the sesame bread rings known as ka'ak. You can spread it on a dough base & bake it as bread, in which case it is called manaeesh. It’s belief that za'atar makes the mind alert and the body strong
